Success Takes Patience
I keep one of Steve Yzerman's trading cards on my desk.
Growing up, he was my idol. I had one of his posters on my bedroom wall.
To me, Steve is the perfect definition of a leader. Calm under pressure, intelligent, and committed to his team's success.
He played 22 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings; helping them win 3 Stanley Cups during that time.
Success didn't happen overnight. He didn't win North America's oldest sports trophy his first season. In fact, the first championship took 14 years of hard work.
How does this relate to your job search?
1. Success is rarely realized immediately. You'll be passed over many times for jobs you want. Never stop trying, no matter how impossible it may seem.
2. Commit to something greater than yourself. Your greatest potential comes when your work aligns with your personal mission and purpose.
3. Highlight your strengths. Are you a leader, a learner, a team player? Strengthen your resume with examples that show why you're the best candidate.
